Gereja Kristen Indonesia (GKI) is an Indonesian-speaking Uniting Church congregation that worships at Neutral Bay. Although we are an Indonesian-speaking congregation, we warmly welcome anyone yearning for God’s love and the Gospel. Indonesians from greater Sydney are welcome to worship and take up membership with GKI. We value prayer; warm fellowship and friendship; worship and sacraments; preaching and witnessing; and social justice work. We also gladly offer pastoral care, counselling, weddings, and baptisms. Aside from our church ministries, we also participate in various Indonesian, multicultural and cross-cultural events.
GKI Uniting gently promotes the importance of having a spiritual journey with God to the wider Indonesian community in NSW. GKI supports and is a part of the Uniting Church of Australia (UCA) Assembly’s Indonesian National Conference; is selectively happy to engage in joint activities with other Indonesian churches in Sydney; and supports community organizations such KMMK, KSD, and NORSICOM for the purpose of maintaining and enhancing unity with the Indonesian community in NSW and Australia. GKI also engages with non-Indonesian churches in Australia who are actively providing support to Indonesian churches and charity organizations in and throughout Indonesia.
GKI Uniting holds Sunday services in Bahasa Indonesia every 4th Sunday of the month, commencing at 12.30pm. Together with the English-speaking congregation, St.John’s, we, GKI conduct a bilingual service with Holy Communion every first Sunday of the month commencing at 11.00am. GKI also conducts fellowship services at the home of congregation members.
