We welcome children of all ages to our services. We have a table and low chairs for children with paper, coloured pens and other activities for them to use at any time. We enjoy the sound of children having fun and we provide a welcoming environment for parents with young children. There’s space at the back of the church for prams and where toddlers can play on the carpet.
The 10.30 am regular service and 11 am Communion service (on the first Sunday of the month) includes a Kids Focus section in which Bobby Babin, our Kids Focus leader, sets a creative challenge inspired by the lectionary readings (Bible readings set for that week in the Uniting Church in Australia calendar). As one of our members observed, all the adults sit up expectantly when this starts – it’s one of our favourite parts of the service too.
Our Kids Focus messages fit with the progressive values of our congregation: God’s love, verses from the Bible related to stories from our lives, social justice and creativity are just some of the themes which recur – always with humour and insight.
We welcome families who are visiting Sydney on holidays.
