History of Neutral Bay Uniting Church
Doing Life Together is a history of Neutral Bay Uniting Church, from the formation of the Uniting Church in 1977 through to 2019 when Rev. Darren Liepold concluded his ministry.
Researched and written by professional hisotorian Dr. Patricia Curthoys, it recounts the congregation’s experiences of becoming a progressive, intercultural community in the context of broader societal changes.
Afterwords by Rev. Alex Pittway, Oti Priyono and Maudie Rindorindo-Gusti connect our story to the time of publication.
Photos from the community but primarily from Russell Pittaway.
Catherine Wheatley’s History
Doing Life Together was partly made possible through a bequest by the late Catherine Wheatley who was a long standing member of the congregation.
Not just financially though her contribution also was this history of the church marking 100 years of our congregation which greatly helped Dr Curthoys write the above history. You can read it in full by clicking here.
